SAVANNAH (October 20, 2005) - Winners of the Coastal Business, Education and Technology Alliance (Coastal BETA) 2005 Technology Awards were announced tonight during a gala event attended by more than 400 business leaders, educators and government officials. Color Maria received top honors, including “Outstanding Achievement by an Emerging Company” for its work on CommerceV3 (CV3), a hosted e-commerce platform.

“I’m happy to accept this award on behalf of everyone who’s had a hand in building CV3, past and present,” said Blake Ellis, President of Color Maria, “and I can promise you we’ve only seen the beginning of what this platform can do for merchants.”

The panel of judges recognized CV3’s lasting value as a development platform for web-based applications. “It is clear that Color Maria is a leader in the e-commerce space, yet their presence also extends to other cutting edge applications.” They also praised the customer-centric development cycle employed by the company. “Color Maria suggests through their technology and services that they are skating to where the puck will be for their customers.”

“The Coastal BETA Technology Awards recognize individuals and organizations for their contributions to our region’s economy and quality of life,” said David Frost, this year’s president of Coastal BETA and Director of Georgia Tech Savannah. “Thanks to these awards, people are becoming aware of the asset that these technology innovators are to our current and future economic well-being.”

Coastal BETA is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1995 to unite coastal Georgia and South Carolina’s business, education and technology communities. Coastal BETA members share a vision of Savannah and the coastal regional as an important technology center offering high-wage opportunities to its citizens.

CommerceV3 is proud to announce the 2005 Holiday Traffic Incubator, a collection of services, webinars and training materials designed to help multi-channel merchants attract qualified web buyers during the important holiday season. The program is open to all multi-channel merchants and is specifically tailored for users of e-commerce platforms from Yahoo, Dydacomp, Miva and CommerceV3.

“This is an extremely important time of year for merchants everywhere” says Blake Ellis, president of CommerceV3, “We’ve got to attract quality traffic to our storefronts now if we have a chance of growing and maintaining that traffic through the holiday shopping season.”

The highlight of this year’s program is the subsidized use of Urchin on Demand, the premiere e-commerce analytics package offered by Google. All program participants can tap into the reporting power of Urchin for free through the holiday season. “Urchin gives us very decisive reports to consider as we try various traffic-building strategies,” says Ellis, “It helps quantify our gains quickly so we can make adjustments.”

Other program benefits include weekly web-based roundtables and collabrative reporting reviews based on actual storefront data, as well as a comprehensive debriefing session after the new year. Special topics this year include tracking of pay-per-click links and profit, taking advantage of geopositioning and the coding of online and offline media for metrics analysis.
